Abstract
The ideal mine haul road will optimize production results in accordance with the planned production targets. The coal production target at PT EEM in December is 42,000 tonnes, while the actual production is 12,700 tonnes. One of the reasons for this inactivity was due to the very long travel time for the dump truck from Pit Seam J to Stockpile Talang Akar. This is caused by less than ideal haul road geometry, such as less than ideal road width, too high grade, not ideal cross slope etc. The purpose of this study is to determine the actual haul road geometry, assess the actual haul road conditions in the field with the results of mathematical calculations based on AASHTO provisions, compare travel dump truck times before and after haul road geometry improvements, determine the factors that affect the haul roads. Based on the research results, the mine haul road layout design was obtained from Pit Seam J to Stockpile Talang Akar with 92 segments. The actual haul road geometry has a straight road width between 5.04-27.30 meters, a bend road width between 6.45-31.15 meters, a super elevation between 0-0.09 meters with a bend radius of 16.14 -106.30 meters, road grade between 0.15-25.99% and cross slope between 0-0.48 m / m. Based on the calculation of road geometry using the AASHTO provisions, there are still many that have not up to standards, except for the radius of the bend. The travel time for the dump truck before repair was 57.93 minutes, while after the repair it was 14.21 minutes in a loaded state and 10.40 minutes in an empty state, so the total time was 24.61 minutes. Mine haul roads are affected by safety embankments, drainage and road signs.
