Abstract

Cahaya matahari merupakan faktor penting yang diperlukan pigmen klorofil dalam proses fotosintesis. Intensitas cahaya matahari yang terlalu rendah atau berlebih akan mengganggu pembentukan pigmen klorofil. Pigmen klorofil merupakan salah satu pigmen fotosintetik yang berperan penting dalam proses fotokimia tumbuhan dan dapat dijadikan indikator kesuburan perairan. Oleh karena itu, dilakukan penelitian ini untuk mengkaji pengaruh intensitas cahaya matahari terhadap pigmen klorofil dan menganalisis kondisi kesuburan perairan berdasarkan konsentrasi klorofil-a. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Pulau Pasaran pada bulan Februari – Maret 2021. Analisis hubungan antara intensitas cahaya matahari terhadap pigmen klorofil dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode analisis regresi korelasi linier. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa intensitas cahaya matahari dan pigmen klorofil-a, -b dan -c berkorelasi positif dengan nilai sebesar 0,26, 0,40 dan 0,55. Rendahnya hubungan antara intensitas cahaya matahari terhadap pigmen klorofil diduga karena rendahnya intensitas cahaya selama penelitian.
