Abstract
A boarding school with a densely populated environment could potentially become a place for the spread of the Covid-19 virus and other diseases. The number of students living together in Islamic boarding schools makes some students lacking in the application of good personal hygiene, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic. This study aimed to know personal hygiene behavior of students at Raudlatul Muta’allimin Kasui Way Kanan boarding school in the new normal Covid-19 pandemic condition. This research uses qualitative methods and information is obtained through in-depth interviews, observation and document review. Data analysis used content analysis with source triangulation, data triangulation and method triangulation methods. The results showed that the health protocol had not been fully implemented, the informants realized the importance of cleanliness and also the necessity to worship, as well as in maintaining health and increasing body immunity is done by eating clean and healthy, but not yet fully fulfilled, taking additional vitamins, doing sports activities and eating in the morning. Regulations in Islamic boarding schools place more emphasis on environmental hygiene, inadequate hand washing facilities, most of the ventilation of health facilities is still below the minimum health requirements, and the large number of occupants with limited number of rooms causes the density of occupancy to tend to decrease. be solid. It can be concluded that the personal hygiene behavior of female students in new normal conditions has not been optimal in implementing the Covid-19 prevention health protocol. Physical health facilities and infrastructure are still lacking and do not meet health requirements.
