Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of zakat on poverty alleviation in Palembang City. This research was conducted in SeberangUlu 1, with a sample of 46 respondents from 156 total population. Data collection method is a survey method with Nonkuota sampling technique. Data analysis techniques used in this research are descriptive and quantitative qualitative. The results of this study are (1) there are differences in income and income received (2) poverty levels that must be achieved based on four poverty indicators are, namely the ratio of the number of heads (H), poverty gap index (P1), income gap index ( I), and Sen poverty index (P2).
