Abstract

This thesis entitled Organizational Control of the Program for the Acceleration of the Study Period of FISIP Students of the UIN Raden Fatah Palembang. The background of this research is the implementation of various acceleration of the study period carried out in the field of education in public and private universities in overcoming existing problems related to the length of the study period and the writing of a thesis or final project, especially at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, UIN Raden Fatah Palembang. The formulation of the problem in this research is how the control of the acceleration program of the study period of the FISIP students of the UIN Raden Fatah Palembang is implemented as a control for the study period that is more than 4 years. The research objective of this thesis is to find out how the control of the acceleration program of the study period at the FISIP of the UIN Raden Fatah Palembang is implemented as a control for the study period which is more than 4 years. The theory used in analyzing the organizational control of the acceleration program for the study period at FISIP Raden Fatah Palembang uses Organizational Control Theory by Phillips Thompskin and George Cheney. There are 4 forms of organizational control, namely simple control, conservative control, bureaucracy and technical control. This research is a type of field research with a qualitative descriptive approach located at UIN Raden Fatah Palembang, especially the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences UIN Raden Fatah Palembang with informants from the Dean and Students. The results showed that the organizational control of the FISIP FISIP study period acceleration program at UIN Raden Fatah Palembang was implemented using the four theories of organizational control above with different emphases according to the form of activities carried out, namely semester between (SA), integrated KKN internship, Seminar Proposal and final session or munaqosah, and the implementation of a thesis clinic (Coaching Clinic). Controlling the implementation time of the acceleration of the study period is very important to achieve the target of accelerating graduation under 4 (four) years.
