Abstract

This study aims to describe language acquisition in children aged 2-3 years in the city of Prabumulih based on phonological and morphological studies. The study of phonology includes the acquisition of vowels and consonants. While morphological studies include the acquisition of affixation and reduplication. How researchers attract children’s attention by using story books. The research method used is descriptive qualitative method. The techniques used are observation, conversational engagement listening, fishing, and recording. The source of the data for this study were 5 children aged 2-3 years named Kinanti, Kianara, Dafa, Khafi, and Ara. The results of this study explain that the phonological acquisition that has been obtained by children aged 2-3 years on vowel sounds is [[a], [i], [u], [e], [ǝ], [ɛ], and [o]. While the consonant sound that has been obtained is [p], [b], [m], [w], [t], [d], [n], [l], [s], [y], [k], [g], [j], [h], [ñ], and [η].Morphological acquisitions obtained by children aged 2-3 years are prefixes in- and to-. Their suffixes –his, confixes ke-an, and se-nya, and reduplications, both intact and reduplication affixes.
