Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi telah menunjukkan pertumbuhan yang cukup signifikan khususnya di bidang komunikasi. Salah satu teknologi komunikasi nirkabel yang saat ini sedang dikembangkan adalah teknologi komunikasi cahaya tampak atau visible light communication (VLC). Teknologi ini menggunakan cahaya tampak saat mengirimkan data, pada umumnya sistem VLC menggunakan fotodioda sebagai photodetectors pada receiver-nya, namun pada penelitian ini akan dilakukan menggunakan sel photovoltaic pada receiver-nya. Sistem komunikasi visible light ini terdiri dari pemancar dan penerima. Pemancar terdiri dari Light Emitting Dioda, amplifier dan catudaya, dan pada penerima terdiri dari solar cell, amplifier dan catu daya. Hal-hal yang dapat mempengaruhi hasil output sistem komunikasi adalah frekuensi, jarak dan intensitas cahaya. Pada penelitian ini, komunikasi menggunakan VLC dapat dilakukan pada jarak pengiriman data sampai 20 cm dan dengan range frekuensi 20 Hz sampai dengan 20 KHz.
