Abstract

This study aims to see the professionalism of journalists in carrying out online journalism in the online media of sumeks.co. This research uses descriptive qualitative method. The results obtained in the field use the theory of professionalism of journalists according to Hall. Based on the 5 elements of the theory of professionalism of journalists, according to Hall is community affiliation, autonomy demand, belief self regulation, dedication to the profession, and social obligations show that these five elements have existed and been carried out by sumeks.co’s journalists. This is shown by the confession of sumeks.co’s journalists, the evidence found in the field, and the confessions from readers of the sumeks.co online media. So that the professionalism of sumeks.co journalists in carrying out online journalism has been implemented according to these five theories.
