Abstract
BRIDGEING MECHANISM DUE TO POLYVINYL ACETATE (PVAc / PVF) PARTICLE IN INSOLATION OIL (PALM OIL and OLIVE OIL) (Cepy Oliver Anarki, 03041181722002, 2021, xix + 38 Pages + Appendices) This experiment aims to study the process of Bridgeing and the effect of mixing Polyvinyl Acetate (PVAc) particles in liquid insulation. 400 ml of palm oil and olive oil were used as test samples for each test. Spherical electrodes with a diameter of 13 mm and a gap of 2.5 mm were used as the Electrode System. The applied high AC voltage is increased in increments of 100 V/s until discharge occurs. Variations in the concentration of Polyvinyl Acetate (PVAc) particles mixed into the test samples (palm oil and olive oil) were 0.1 wt%, 0.5 wt%, and 1 wt%. For comparison, the test was carried out on samples without a mixture of Polyvinyl Acetate (PVAc) particles. In palm oil bridgeing begins to form at a voltage of 2 kV and thickens as the voltage increases. While in olive oil Bridgeing begins to form at a voltage of 3 kV and thickens as the voltage increases. The results showed that palm oil treated with a mixture of 1 wt% Polyvinyl Acetate (PVAc) particles experienced a decrease in the initial discharge stress value of 8.59%, when compared to the initial discharge stress value of the sample without Polyvinyl Acetate (PVAc) particles. The initial stress discharge in olive oil with Polyvinyl Acetate (PVAc) 1 wt% decreased by 8.29%. The results showed that increasing the number of Polyvinyl Acetate (PVAc) particles could accelerate the partial discharge. The initial partial discharge stress in olive oil is higher than in palm oil.
