Abstract
The need for electrical energy consumption is getting bigger every year due to population growth. This needs to be accompanied by the availability of sufficient electrical energy in order to meet consumer needs. One of the efforts made to meet these needs is the process of distributing electrical energy. In an electrical distribution system, the amount of supplied voltage and electrical power is not the same as that received. This is due to the occurrence of voltage drops and power losses in the distribution network which can be a loss for electricity producers and consumers because it can reduce the quality and optimization of the electrical energy. Voltage drop and power losses that occur can not be avoided, but can be reduced so that it is not too big. Therefore, a study was conducted to analyze the magnitude of the voltage drop and power losses that occurred in the Kenari feeder at Seduduk Putih Substation in Palembang. Based on the calculation results obtained from the Kenari feeder with a length of 8.376 km, the amount of power losses is 3,665.4505 Watt or 3.66 kW and the voltage is 87.2423 V with a percentage of 0.43%. The value of power losses and voltage drop is still within the standard limit set by PT. PLN (Persero) according to SPLN 1: 1995 regarding the standard limit for the voltage drop of the 20 kV distribution system, namely + 5% and -10% and with the smallest power loss values.
