Abstract

The productivity of kampong chicken is influenced by feed. Feed is very important to increase the productivity of kampong chicken, both in terms of quality and continuous availability. The expensive price of commercial feed is the main obstacle for farmers so discover the alternative feed ingredients to sustain the productivity of kampong chicken both in quality and quantity. The aim of this research is examine the potential of BSF maggot flour performance of KUB chickens in the ration. This research was conducted on December to March 2021 at Experimental Cage Laboratory of Animal Husbandry Study Program, Department of Animal Technology and Industry, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. This research design applied Completely Randomized Design (CRD) method consist of 5 treatments and 4 repitations adjust the maggot flour feed mixed in the ration is : P0 (Control ration), P1 (Addition of 5% maggot flour in the ration), P2 (Addition of 10% maggot flour in the ration), P3 (Addition of 15% maggot flour in the ration), P4 (Addition of 20% maggot flour in the ration). The parameters observed in this research were the weight gain of chicken, ration consumption and ration conversion. The result obtained that the utilization of maggot flour alternative feed to 5% level in the ration indicate the same performance of kampong chicken than a ration without the utilization of flour maggot.
