Abstract
COVID-19 is the cause of a global pandemic in the world, first discovered in Wuhan, China. Patients with COVID-19 who was confirmed positive had low immunity and attack the body resulting in fever, dry cough, shortness of breath to death and optimal nutrition was needed. The purpose of the studied was to analyze the implementation of nutrition service policies at the nutrition installation unit of the COVID-19 referral hospital in Palembang City. Observational research method with cross sectional Mix Methods Concurrent approach in 5 COVID-19 referral hospitals at Palembang City, January-May 2021, 30 informants and 112 COVID-19 patients. The Chi-square results show a significant relationship between length of stay and food waste with the recovery of COVID-19 patients. Logistic regression analysis found length of hospitalization <14 days gives a probability of 49% with cure p-value 0.004 OR: 4.605; 95%CI (1.643-12.908); This shows was significant relationship between the length of stay and the patient's recovery. on the qualitative variable implementation of nutrition service policies: (a) policy standards and objectives were realized and strengthened by the Director's Decree, (b) Sources of funds, human resources and adequate facilities, ( c) Characteristics of implementing organizations that have implemented policies with certainty, (d) Communication between implementers is carried out, but the obstacles are the non-compliance of implementing tasks, (e) The attitude of the implementers very supportive, but is constrained by knowledge gaps, (f) Socio-economic and political conditions are going well and supported by all policy actors (Heads of Sections, Heads of Divisions, Directors, Professional Organizations, and the Central Government).
