Abstract
Performance appraisal is a wayfor measuring the contribution of individuals to their organization. Performance appraisal consists of three steps tkere are, Standard work, prccess assessment, and feedback This research aims to determine how the effect of the performance appraisal to the employees performance improvement of PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk Branch Solok This research used a questionnaire with measurement sccle with a ordinal scales t ha t analyzed by test validity, reliability and simple linear regression analysis by using SPPS 19. The population in this research was 44 permanen t employees of PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk Branch Solok. The results of research shows that the variable of performance appraisal had positive effect and significant against performance employees of PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk Branch Solok. Value of R square shown 94.5% approved that the performance appraisal affect the employees performance while the resi of the remaining 5.5% (100%-94.5%) is explained by other variablcs such as motivation, leadership, compcnsaiion and olhers that are not mecsured in the study this. Then, after knowing the correlation betwsen these variables, performance appraisal can be used to increase the performance of employees at PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk Branch Solok.
