Abstract

This study aims to prove the family environment’s influence on the student’s learning activity at economics lesson XI IPS class in SMA Negeri 2 Ogan Ilir. The research method used ex-post facto. The technique for collecting the data used questionnaires, interviews, and observation with the likert scale. The instrument validity was conducted using the correlation product moment formula and the reliability test using the Alpha Cronbach formula. In this study, the sample was determined using the Cluster Randow Sampling technique so that one class which is XI IPS 2 which amounts to 30 students. Hypothesis using parametric statistic which was t-tes that obtained namely 2,14 ≥ 1,701, which means Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, then with the product-moment correlation test, the value of r=0,3757 is in the category of less influence. The determinant coefficient swows the contribution of the family environment to the learning activity of students by 14,11% the rest is influenced by other variables and it can be concluded that the relationship between the two variables is significant. Based on this research, it is hoped that parents can create a conducive and comfortable family environment for children to learn so that they can increase learning activities.
