Abstract
Annealing is a heat treatment process with a slow cooling procedure using room temperature. This study used a medium carbon specimen with a temperature of 750 C . The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of annealing heat treatment on the test specimen on the corrosion rate and bending strength using AISI 1045 medium carbon steel specimens in an acetic acid environment which will then calculate the corrosion rate using the weight loss method and the bending strength test with the bending. The method used in this study is a pure experiment with the results obtained that annealing is very influential on slowing down the corrosion rate of 0.00010360 mpy, while the annealing process has decreased bending strength of 17,220 kgf.The conclusion is that annealing is very influential in slowing down the corrosion rate, while the annealing process does not have a good impact on bending strengt
