Abstract

The Influence Of Glucose Composition And Montmorilonite Toward The Caracteristic Of Composite Catalyst Montmorilonite Carbon Sulfonate Penelitian pengaruh komposisi glukosa dan montmorilonit terhadap sifat katalis komposit montmorilonit karbon sulfonat telah dilakukan. Katalis komposit montmorilonit karbon sulfonat (M-CS) dibuat dengan cara mencampurkan montmorilonit dan glukosa sampai homogen kemudian dikarbonisasi dan disulfonasi selama 15 jam. Campuran antara montmorilonit dan glukosa dibuat dengan variasi perbandingan (g) 1:3, 1:2, 1:1, 2:1 dan 3:1. Dari uji keasaman dan reaksi esterifikasi diperoleh hasil bahwa katalis komposit M-CS dengan perbandingan 1:3 memberikan nilai terbaik yaitu 9,4 mmol/g dan 82,81 % hasil produk. Produk dikarakterisasi menggunakan SEM-EDX dan FTIR. Hasil Analisa SEM-EDX menunjukkan adanya unsur sulfur sebanyak 1,16 %. Hasil analisa FTIR menunjukkan adanya gugus sulfonat -S03H pada katalis.
