Abstract

Adolescence is considered an important nutritional period in life. The increase in the adolescent population is the reason for the need for this age group to be a concern, because it will be followed by an increase in nutritional problems, along with increasing attention to their physical appearance and nutritional knowledge as factors affecting nutritional status in adolescents. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between body image and nutritional knowledge with the nutritional status of adolescents in MAN 1 OKU. This research is a quantitative research with a cross sectional approach. The sampling technique used is Snowball Sampling. The sample in this study were young women or students aged 16-18 years who attended Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 1 OKU and amounted to 78 respondents. Calculation of the number of samples using the hypothesis test formula of two different proportions. The data analysis used is univariate and bivariate data analysis. Bivariate analysis in this study used the Chi-Square test. The results of this study indicate that the variables of body image (p-value= 0,0001), nutritional knowledge (p-value= 0,0001), pocket money (p-value= 0,039) and parents' income (p-value= 0,006) are related to the nutritional status of adolescent girls. Based on the results of the study, it is expected to increase knowledge through education about balanced nutrition and the importance of a positive body image for adolescents through poster media that can be disseminated through social media.
