Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui persepsi mahasiswa PPKn FKIP Universitas Sriwijaya kampus Indralaya terhadap fungsi pers di Indonesia. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa PPKn FKIP Universitas Sriwijaya kampus Indralaya angkatan 2015 sampai 2018 berjumlah 178 orang mahasiswa. Pada penelitian ini teknik sampel yang digunakan adalah teknik Probability Sampling yaitu proportionate stratified random sampling serta menentukan jumlahnya dengan mengunakan penarikan sampel 35% dari populasi penelitian, maka sampelnya berjumlah 62 orang mahasiswa. Adapun teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah dokumentasi dan angket. Kemudian analisis data menggunakan statistik deskriptif. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data dapat disimpulkan bahwa persepsi mahasiswa PPKn FKIP Universitas Sriwijaya kampus Indralaya terhadap fungsi pers di Indonesia adalah positif. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari empat indikator fungsi pers yang digunakan yaitu fungsi informasi, fungsi pendidikan, fungsi hiburan dan fungsi kontrol sosial, memperoleh hasil persentase skor rata-rata 77% dari persentase yang diharapkan (100%).
