Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah merancang alat pemotong nata de coco secara mekanis. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dari bulan November hingga Juni 2006 di Laboratorium Program Studi Teknik Pertanian, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Sriwijaya, Indralaya. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini dengan menggunakan rancangan teknik yang terbagi menjadi tiga tahap yaitu : 1) Tahap perancangan, 2) Tahap pembuatan alat 3)Tahap pengujian alat. Perancangan alat ini dibuat dari besi siku yang berukuran panjang 85 cm, lebar 21 cm dan tinggi 27 cm. Motor listrik yang digunakan berukuran 1/16 hp. Kapasitas keija teoritis dan kapasitas kerja efektif adalah 42,57 kg perjam dan 40,41 kg per jam dengan menggunakan tenaga listrik. Efisiensi pada alat sebesar 94,99%. Rata-rata efisiensi sebesar 99,70 %. Energi yang dibutuhkan oleh motor listrik sebesai 2,45 Joule. Kata kunci : alat pemotong, mekanis, nata de coco
