Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan mendeskripsikan ada tidaknya pengaruh model pembelajaran Probing Prompting terhadap kemampuan menulis teks eksplanasi siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Indralaya Selatan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen semu. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari 2 kelas yaitu kelas XI IIS 1 yang berjumlah 27 siswa sebagai kelas eksperimen dan XI IIS 2 yang berjumlah 27 siswa sebagai kelas kontrol. Kelas eksperimen merupakan kelas yang diberi perlakuan menggunakan model pembelajaran Probing Prompting sedangkan kelas kontrol merupakan kelas dengan model pembelajaran Discovery Learning. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik tes tertulis dan teknik pengolahan data menggunakan perhitungan uji-t dengan program SPSS 24. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan hasil tes antara kelas eksperimen dengan kelas kontrol. Nilai rata-rata tes awal kelas eksperimen 61,74 dan kelas kontrol 58,18. Sementara nilai rata-rata tes akhir kelas eksperimen 81,00 dan kelas kontrol 69,18. Dari hasil perhitungan uji-t membuktikan bahwa thitung > ttabel = 5,035 > 2,007 dengan df = 52 pada tingkat signifikansi 95% (α = 0,025). Dengan demikian, Ha yang berbunyi “Ada pengaruh siswa yang diajarkan dengan model Probing Prompting terhadap keterampilan menulis teks eksplanasi siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Indralaya Selatan diterima. Kesimpulan, model pembelajaran Probing Prompting berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan menulis teks eksplanasi siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Indralaya Selatan.
