Abstract
Mangosteen peel (Garcinia mangostana) is known to have a high antioxidant activity inthe form of xanthone compounds. This study aims to determine the formulation of the optimal peel-off mask preparation with the active substance of mangosteen skin ethanol extract and determine antioxidant activity with the DPPH method. Optimum formulation is based on physical properties (dispersibility test, adhesion test, and dryness test). Formulation of peel-off mask preparations using factorial design 2^3 these include extracts, whey protein,and PVA. The optimum formulas obtained is formula 4 (ekstrak 1%, whey protein 2,5% and PVA 12%) and 5 (ekstrak 2%, whey protein 5% and PVA 14%) with a value of 〖 IC〗_50 41.22 μg/mL and 3.83 μg/mL to dampen DPPH radicals. Testing the physical properties of peel-off mask preparations on formulas 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 has qualified SNI peel-off masks.
