Abstract

Information systems play an important role for an institution, including Sriwijaya University. One of the factors to support student study results is public lecture activities, where the public lecture itself brings speakers or resource persons to come to campus and is attended by Engineering students using a special room for public lectures. With so many public lectures being held, it is often constrained by the schedule of room borrowing, causing schedule collisions or errors in confirming rooms. This happens because the room is still being borrowed manually or conventionally. The system development method used in the room loan application system uses the RAD (Rapid Application Development) method in developing the system to make it easier and more focused. After evaluating 30 respondents in system testing, it can be seen that 46.7% strongly agree and the rest agree that the system already has an attractive and easy-to-understand appearance, while in the procedures and features of the application 53.3% of respondents strongly agree that the procedures and features it has been designed to simplify the process of borrowing a room, when the system was tested overall 70% of respondents agreed that the system was in accordance with its function.
