Abstract

Electricity is one of the main needs that is indispensable in everyday life, whether at home, school, college, or industry. In the use of electricity, it is usually not known how much electricity has been used so that it tends to waste electrical energy. Therefore, an effort is needed to measure the use of electricity to find out how much electricity is used so that its use is more effective and efficient. This research is intended to create a tool that can monitor and control the use and record the amount of electricity based on the Internet of things so that electricity usage can be more efficient and effective. This tool uses Arduino Uno as a controller, pzem-004t version 3.0 to read current, voltage, and apparent power used by monitoring using Blynk software. Inductive and resistive loads as media were observed and controlled, and from the two test data, it was found that the tool was working well and it could be proven that in the first experiment using a resistive load, the voltage was 221.5 volts, current was 0.18 amperes, and power apparent value of 38.98 voltamperes. Meanwhile, the actual value in this experiment is a voltage of 222 volts, a current of 0.19 amperes and an apparent power of 42.12 voltamperes. The measurement error on the monitoring and controlling tool is obtained by an average error of = 4.4% for resistive loads. While the measurement error on the inductive load obtained an average error of = 5.95%. And the average error of measurement at 2 loads is = 3.21%. The difference in the results of this measurement is influenced by the level of accuracy of the sensor. However, with these results this tool can be used as remote monitoring by users.
