Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the factors causing the low participation of couples of childbearing age in the family planning program in Timbangan Village, North Indralaya District, Ogan Ilir Regency. This study uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. Informants in this study amounted to 6 couples of childbearing age. Data collection techniques used are interviews with research subjects. Based on the results of data analysis conducted through the triangulation method, it can be concluded that there are several factors that cause the low participation of couples of childbearing age in Timbangan village, namely the knowledge factor, knowledge of family planning programs in each child. childbearing age is very low. Many couples of childbearing age have so much work to do that they don't have time to join a family planning program. Education, on average only graduated from junior high school so that knowledge is low. The male gender greatly influences the decision because there are also husbands who do not give permission and. Certain cultural factors, there are those who still believe in the old culture, namely many children who have a lot of sustenance and some are from religion.
