Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the optimal dose of liquid fertilizer on the production of taiwan grass (Pennisetum purpureum Schumach). The research was conducted at the Garden Experiments Animal Studies Program Faculty of Agriculture, University of Srivijaya Indralaya Ogan Ilir, South Sumatra. Research carried out for 4 months, starting from July to October 2011. This research used randomized block design (RGD) with 4 treatments and each treatment consisted of 3 groups as replicates. The treatments used are liquid fertilizers, with a dose of Co (0 Liter liquid fertilizer ha-1), Ci (1 Liter of liquid fertilizer ha-1), C2 (2 Liters of liquid fertilizer ha-1), and C3 (3 L-iters of fertilizer liquid rha-l). Parameters observed is the production of fresh and dry weight production of elephant grass taiwan. The results showed that administration of liquid fertilizer effect is very real (P<0.01) on the production of fresh and dry weight production of elephant grass taiwan. Production of fresh weight of elephant grass taiwan high of 648.93 grams and production of its dry weight of 208.8 grams. The conclusion of this study was 2-liter liquid fertilizer ha-1 can increase the production of fresh and dry weight of the optimal production in elephant grass taiwan.
