Abstract
This research was done to study crude fiber fraction using Filter Bag Technique (FBT) and Van Soest (Vs) methods. It was done through 2 stapes, (1) ensiling sugarcane sprout, (2) analyzed its crude fiber quality using Filter Bag Technique (FBT) and Van Soest (Vs) method. Samples were analyzed of nutrition laboratory Agriculture Faculty of Sriwijaya University. Data were analyzed using t-test and 10 replication observed parameter were NDF, ADF, cellulose, lignin, and silica. The result shows that for NDF and ADF parameter, there were no significant result (P>0.05) and for cellulose, lignin and silica has significant result between two method (FBT and Vs). It is concluded that either Vs method or FBT can be used to determined NDF and ADF while it is not suggested for other parameters.
