Abstract

The National Health Insurance is a guarantee of participant protection to obtain health care and protection benefits. The increasing number of arrears every year is not in accordance with the increasing number of arrears, where arrears in Kayaugung sub-district are the highest arrears in OKI Regency, with independent membership being the sector with the most arrears. The purpose of the study was to determine the factors related to compliance with paying the dues of JKN participants in the independent category in Kayuagung District. This type of research is descriptive analytic using a cross sectional design. The sample in this study amounted to 116 samples selected by purposive sampling method with data analysis using Chi-Square. The results showed that the independent category of JKN participants who did not comply in paying BPJS contributions in Kayuagung District were 53 (45.7%). Variables related to compliance with paying dues for JKN participants in the independent category in Kayuagung District include age (P-value=0,039; PR=0,627; CI=0,412-0,954), gender (P￾value=0,013; PR=1,934; CI=1,126-3,321), and where to pay contributions (P￾value=0,035; PR=1,587; CI=1,071-2,350). The variables that do not have a relationship with compliance with paying dues for JKN participants in the independent category are education, occupation, income, knowledge, motivation, travel time to the place of payment of contributions, and perception. It can be concluded that the non-compliance of independent participants in paying dues can be caused by age, gender, and inadequate place of payment. The results of this study are expected to help BPJS in optimizing the use of social media to remind participants to pay dues on time.
