Abstract

The Corona Virus (Covid-19) that emerged at the end of 2019 had a negative impact on all sectors, one of which was experienced by Pempek SMEs in Palembang City. This study aims to determine the development of Pempek SMEs in Palembang City before and after the Covid-19 pandemic in terms of sales turnover, number of workers, number of consumers, and taxes. Data collection techniques used are observation, interviews, and documentation. This study uses quantitative methods and primary data. The results of the analysis show that there are significant differences in sales turnover, the number of workers, the number of consumers, and the Pempek MSME taxes in the city of Palembang before and after the Covid-19 pandemic. Sales turnover decreased by an average of 37%, the number of employees decreased by an average of 65%, the number of consumers decreased by 33%, and taxes decreased by an average of 64%.
