Abstract

The experiment was conducted to know effect of using papaya leaves flour dry matter and organic matter digestibilities and level of N-NH3 of feather mealon by in vitro method. This experiment was carried out at Laboratorium Dasar Bersama (LDB) and Laboratorium Kimia dan Mikrobiologi Jarusan Teknologi pertanian Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Sriwijaya from May to September 2006. The experimental design was completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 2 replications. The treatments were 4 levels of papaya leaves flour include :0 %, 7.5 %, 15 % and 22.5 %. Parameter that measured was dry matter and organic matter digestibilities and level of N-NH3. The data were analyzed using Anova (analisys of variance) and Duncan’s Multi Range Test (DMRT). The result showed that the treatment significanly different (P<0.05) affect dry matter and organic matter digestibilities and level of N-NH3. It was concluded that papaya leaves flour could be used to increase digestibility of feather meal by in vitro method, with the optimal level was 15 %.
