Abstract

Ya Samman Cindo Housing Phase II is a residential area located in Tanjung Merbu Village, Rambutan District, Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra Province. The Drainage channels in this residential area are planned to regulate rain water drainage system as well as control the flooding that can be caused by high rainfall intensity. Analysis of the planned drainage system in this study designed with the help of the EPA SWMM 5.1 program. The primary data in this study were obtained from field survey using drone and GNSS-RTK tool, and also soil sample test using the SCS-CN method in the laboratory. Secondary data in the form of residential area layout and land use were obtained from the housing developer. The hydrological analysis was carried out by processing the maximum daily rainfall data at the Plaju rain post observation station into the design rainfall in the 2-year and 5-year return periods. The drainage instruments designed are 340 subcatchments, 321 junction nodes, 20 outfalls points, and 446 drainage channels which those drainage channels are divided into primary channels with size of 1 m x 1 m and secondary channels 0.4 m x 0.4 m. The simulation result shows that some of the planned drainage channels are flooded, so repairs need to be done by modifying 52 channels for 2 year return period and 61 channels for 5 year return period with varying channel sizes.
