Abstract

This study was proposed to prove whether there was an influence of peer groups on the level of consumptiveness of Economic Education students batch 2019 of FKIP Sriwijaya University. The hypothesis proposed is that there was a significant influence between peer groups on the level of consumptiveness of Economics Education students of FKIP Unsri. The sample in this study amounted to 56 students by using the Simple Random Sampling technique at an error rate of 5%. Data collection techniques used questionnaires and documentation. The data analysis technique used Product Moment correlation. Based on the results of data analysis, it was obtained that the r-count was 0.612 (greater than the r-table) at a significance level of 5%. It showed that there was a positive and significant influence between the peer group and the consumptive level. The positive influence is a unidirectional relationship. So, when you have a high peer group, it will increase the level of student consumption.
