Abstract
This research aims to describe the level of learning independence of students of Economic Education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Sriwijaya University in the 2020 academic year. The sampling technique used is simple random sampling. This research is a descriptive study with a quantitative approach that uses data collection techniques in the form of a questionnaire. The results showed that the level of learning independence of Economic Education students in the 2020 academic year was 42.86% in the very high category, 52.38% in the high category and 4.76% in the medium category. Of the six indicators, it is known that the indicator has self-confidence as much as 42.54% very high category, responsibility indicator as much as 80.10% very high category, independence from others as much as 54.76% very high category, initiative and creative in learning as much as 35 ,71% in high and medium categories, discipline attitude in 71.43% in very high category and respect for time as much as 57,14% in very high category. Based on the results of the study, it is expected to increase student learning independence, especially in growing initiative and creativity in learning.
