Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the implementation of the "Tahfidz Qur'an" activity in building the religious character of students at SMP Muhammadiyah 4 Palembang, and this research is limited to only taking indicators consisting of effort, result, and impact of students who take part in the "Tahfidz Qur'an" activity in building religious character in themselves. This study uses a quantitative approach with a descriptive method. The population in this study were 491 students of SMP Muhammadiyah 4 Palembang. Furthermore, sampling using non-probability sampling technique purposive sampling type in order to obtain 45 samples and data collection through documentation and questionnaires. This study resulted that the "Tahfidz Qur'an" activity in building the religious character of students at SMP Muhammadiyah 4 Palembang was effective. This is evident from the religious character indicator score with an average total score of 75.18%. If it is seen from the average total score of the entire questionnaire data is 75.18% with positive effectiveness criteria 75.18 > 62 then the result is effective. So that it can be interpreted that the results of the study show the effectiveness of the implementation of the "Tahfidz Qur'an" activity in building the religious character of students at SMP Muhammadiyah 4 Palembang.
