Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the application of the sociodrama method on the social awareness of students in Civics Subjects at SMAN 6 Palembang. This research is an experimental study conducted using a pre experimental design with a population of 354 students but the sample taken is only 72 people. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling, namely sampling is carried out with certain considerations. Data collection techniques were obtained by using observation and documentation. The data analysis technique in this study used normality test and hypothesis testing with a level of error (α) = 0.5. The software used in this study is SPSS version 24.0. The results of the study can be concluded that Civics learning by using the sociodrama method has a significant positive impact on the social awareness of the students at SMA Negeri 6 Palembang. This is indicated by the ttest in the post-test of the experimental- control group which shows a significant difference between the post-test of the experimental and control groups after being given treatment.
