Abstract
Biometrics is one branch of science that uses human characteristics or characteristics for identification purposes. Fingerprint is one of the biometrics that is used because everyone has different fingerprints. However, there are obstacles in the identification of fingerprints, namely noise between the valley and ridge patterns. Therefore in this final project to repair damaged fingerprint images using the adaptive histogram equalization (AHE) and Gabor Filter methods. In order for the system to be seen as a result, an recognition system was carried out, namely using a coordinate polar-based feature matching in the Self Organizing Map (SOM) system. And the test results are indicated by the value of the success of identification. There are 15 fingerprint data, where each fingerprint has 5 different positions so that the total data is 75 fingerprint data. After testing the test fingerprints obtained the value of the results of accuracy on image identification is 33% for AHE and 64% for Gabor Filter.
