Abstract

M.I Istiqomah Sekayu is a private madrasa whose management is under the ministry of religion. Every year M.I Istiqomah Sekayu conducts new student admissions activities which of course follow the policies of the ministry of religion. However, in carrying out its activities, it turned out that there were several problems experienced by the committee such as lost receipts, confused student attribute order data and registration requirements documents that were forgotten and deliberately not collected. Therefore, this study aims to develop an information system for new student admissions using the design thinking system development method. The design thinking method consists of 5 stages, namely empathize, define, ideate, prototype and test. From the results of the research at the prototype stage, a prototype of the new student admissions information system was produced whose features and functions were obtained from the ideate stage. The system prototype testing stage is carried out using a system usability scale instrument with a final score of 81.03 which is included in the Acceptable value category for the Acceptability Range scale, then a B value for the Grade Scale and "GOOD" for the Adjective Ratings scale which indicates that this system is acceptable and be a solution to the problems experienced by users.
