Abstract
The objective of this research was to know the effect of gift coconut milk residue fermented with tempe yeast in diets to egg quality of Silver Arabian chicken. This research was conducted in Balai Pembibitan Ternak Unggul (BPTU) Sapi Dwiguna dan Ayam, Sembawa, km 29, South Sumatra ffom December 2004 to January 2005. This research used 40 Silver Arabian chicken were distributed into Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with five treatments and four replications. Each replication consists of two chicks. Treatments were Po (100% basal diets + 0% coconut milk residue fermented), Pi (97,5% basal diets + 2,5% coconut milk residue fermented), P2 (95% basal diets + 5% coconut milk residue fermented), P3 (92,5% basal diets + 7,5% coconut milk residue fermented) and P4 (90% basal diets + 10% coconut milk residue fermented). Parameters measured were egg weight, percentage of egg shell, percentage of albumen, percentage of egg yolk and Haugh Unit. The result showed that gift coconut milk residue fermented with tempe yeast in diets had significantly different (P<0,05) on percentage of albumen, but had not significantly different (P>0,05) on egg weight, percentage of egg shell, percentage of egg yolk and Haugh Unit.
