Abstract

The stability of an electrical power system could be disrupted due to large disturbances that somehow could occur abruptly. To prevent this situation, a prevention steps in needed, one of those method to keep the power system stability is load shedding. This research is done by doing two simulations, the first simulation is load shedding by voltage drop under its nominal standard on transmission line, and the second simulation is load shedding by overload on transmission line, In simulation used DIgSILENT Power Factory software 15.1.7. This schematic load shedding is based on the load fluctuation, which considering the low rate of the load fluctuations to be released by simulating load shedding on the chosen load in order to get the stability back to normal. On the first simulation (Line A 1 released), the lowest voltage drop is on bus 6 (0,894 p.u.) and bus 8 (0,894 p.u.), right after we load shedding about 15 MVA we got that the voltage bus is increasing on bus 6 became 0,901 p.u., and on the bus 8 became 0,902 p.u. Then on the second simulation (Line B 1 released) the current through the transmission line (Line B 2) increased at 0,442 kA or about 102,86%, right after the load shedding about 24 MVA on the transmission line (Line B 2) there was a decreasing current value running through the line about 0,337 kA or about 78,50%. Thus, this load shedding method which based on the load fluctuation could maintain the stability of a power system and keep the continuity of an electricity by load shedding some low rate priority and keep the highest priority.
