Abstract

Background : The population of Indonesia in 2010 was 237,6 million people, with a growth rate of 1,49% per year. One of effort to decrease the number of birth with family planning program was family planning pill contraception. According to BKKBN until May 2011, the number of participants pill comes out second largest in Indonesia and South Sumatera. The purpose of this research was to knowing the prevalence and determining the factor that most influencing family planning pill contraception using in Multiwahana Primary Health Center Sako Palembang Period January 1 -June 30, 2011. Methods : A cross sectional study has been done in Multiwahana Primary Health Center since October until November 2011. The population of study was all reproductive age women in Primary Health Center Sako Palembang Period January 1 - June 30, 2011. The sample was 378 who fulfilled the inclusion criteria. Statistic analyze has been done with univariate, bivariate, and multivariate analysis by using the 18 version ofSPSS. Result: The prevalence rate of oral contraceptive is 27,8%. Parity (p = 0.012) had a significant association with family planning pill contraception using, whereas age (p= 0.414) and occupation (p = 0.253) had association but did not significantly affect with family planning pill contraception using. In addition, by using logistic regression this study found that age is a protective factor. Conclusion : The prevalence rate of oral contraceptive is 27,8%. Parity had a significant association with family planning pill contraception using, whereas age and occupation had association but did not significantly affect with family planning pill contraception using. In addition, by using logistic regression this study found that age is a protective factor.
