Abstract

This study aims to determine the potential of grazing pasture in Sejaro Sakti Village, Indralaya District, Ogan Ilir Regency. This research was conducted from February to March 2022 in the grazing pasture in Sejaro Sakti Village, Indralaya District, Ogan Ilir Regency. It was carried out at the Animal Nutrition and Feeding Laboratory, Animal Husbandry Study Progam, Faculty of Agiculture, Sriwijaya University. The method used in this study is the Halls method, by taking samples using a 1m2 sample plot to determine the type and production of the forage. The parameters observed were the vegetation types in the swampy pastures, new weight production, dry weight production, and storage capacity. The results showed that there were 9 types of swamp forage vegetation, consisting of 9 species, namely Hymenache amplexicaulis, Oryza rupifogon, Eleocharis dulcis, Spirogyra sp, Eichornia crassipes, Salvinia molesta, Nymphanea adorate, Caesalpinia sp. and, Neptunia oleracea lour. Forage production in the swamp land of Sejaro Sakti Village is 1016.43 gam/m2 or 1.02 kg/m2 with an average of 0.11 kg/m2 or 1 ton/ha in one harvest. The capacity of the grazing area in the swampy grazing area of Sejaro Sakti Village, Indralaya District, Ogan Ilir Regency is 0.66 ST/ha/year.
