Abstract
There are many health problems that occur in elementary school children, but the most common is the problem of nutrition. The nutritional problems can be supported by several factors such as age, gender, parental education, parental occupation, and family income. Anthropometric assessment of nutritional status was conducted to determine the nutritional status of the child, so the nutrition problem can be treated as soon as possible. Method: This study used descriptive survey design with cross sectional study. From 151 students grade III of Sekolah Dasar Negeri 1 Sungaililin, there were 122 students as samples. This study was conducted from August 2013 to January 2014. Data of the student's parents collected through questionnaire, while data of nutritional status of students were collected through anthropometric assessment which complies with the Standard of WHO 2007. Result: The result of the study indicate that of the 122 students, 94 students (77,0%) had normal nutritional status, 9 students (7,4%) severe undemutrition, 9 students (7,4%) undemutrition, 8 students (6,6%) ovemutrition, and only 2 students (1,6%) obese. So, severe undemutrition, undemutrition, ovemutrition, and obesity still found on elementary school students grade III.
