Abstract
Background: Child development is strongly influenced by environment, which is inapppropriate environment will hinder child development. Inadequate socioeconomic situation and level of knowledge that will lead to less disturbance of nutrition and delay growth and development of children. The research was conducted at two kindergartens, TK Riang Gembira and TK Ladas berendai Prabumulih. Methods: This study was conducted in July-December 2011 at TK Riang Gembira and Ladas berendai Prabumulih using cross-sectional study. Results: Of the 67 samples of the study, obtained the middle to lower economic status 11,9%, upper middle economic status 88,1%, 85,1% good nutritional status, 71,6% with appropriate developmental status, 21,4% dubious and inappropriate developmental status, test result showed no statistically significant relationship between economic status with the nutritional status of children based on KPSP p = 0.614, OR = 1.34, and 95% Cl (0.98 to 3.19), there was no significant relationship between economic status with the child’s developmental status based on KPSP p = 0.427, OR = 2.55, and 95% Cl (0.419 to 30.967), and no significant relationship between nutritional status with the child’s development status based on KPSP p = 0.712, OR = 2.84, and 95% Cl (0.113 to 3.063). Conclusion: There is no relationship between socio-economic status and nutritional status with child’s developmental status based on KPSP at TK Riang Gembira and Ladas Berendai Prabumulih.
