Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh jenis substrat peletakan telur yang berbeda terhadap waktu pemijahan, persentase penempelan telur, persentase penetasan telur, dan kelangsungan hidup ikan sumatra. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Desember 2009 di Laboratorium Budidaya Perairan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Sriwijaya, Indralaya. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode eksperimental dengan menggunakan 4 perlakuan So ~ tanpa substrat , Sj = eceng gondok, S2 = hidrilla, S3 = nilon. Parameter yang diukur terdiri dari waktu pemijahan, persentase penempelan telur, persentase penetasan telur dan kelangsungan hidup larva ikan sumatra selama pemeliharaan dan data kualitas air yang diukur meliputi suhu, pH, DO (Oksigen terlarut) dan ammonia. Berdasarkan hasil analisa, waktu pemijahan pada perlakuan substrat eceng gondok, hidrilla dan nilon induk sumatra memijah pada hari pertama. Persentase penempelan telur tertinggi 73,8% pada substrat eceng gondok. Persentase penetasan telur 81,5% pada substrat eceng gondok dan kelangsungan hidup larva selama penelitian sebesar 96,2% pada perlakuan substrat eceng gondok. Data kualitas anyang didapat yakni suhu 27,9-29,9 °C, pH 6,5-6,9, DO 6,0-6,6 mg. l-1 dan 0,08-0,19. mg.l-1
