Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan mengukur seberapa besar pengaruh status ekonomi orang tua terhadap perilaku konsumtif mahasiswa FISIP Unsri. merupakan penelitian kuantitatif yang bersifat Asosiatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menyebar angket atau kuesioner. Skala yang digunakan dalam kuesioner yaitu skala likert. Jumlah responden dalam penelitian ini yaitu 98 responden. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik proportionate statified random sampling. Penganalisaan data dengan menggunakan rumus person product moment. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat pengaruh positif dan signifikan antara status sosial ekonomi orang tua terhadap perilaku konsumtif mahasiswa FISIP Unsri, ditunjukkan melalui hasil uji Korelasi Product Moment yang menunjukkan (rhitung) 4,920 > 1, 980 (rtabel). Kemudian hasil penghitungan besaran menunjukkan pengaruh status sosial ekonomi sebesar 20,16% dalam mempengaruhi perilaku konsumtif mahasiswa FISIP Unsri dan 79,84 dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain.
