Abstract

In dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia, the United States provided foreign assistance in the form of grants regulated in the Bilateral Development Cooperation Network (BDCF) No. 040 – 497 approved in July 2020. The BDCF framework has four priority pillars, one of them is health. This study was conducted with the aim of explaining how the form of foreign assistance provided by the United States Government to the Government of Indonesia in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic. This research uses the theory of foreign assistance by adopting the theory of KJ Holsti to explain the forms of foreign assistance provided by the United States and how the assistance is implemented in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemi in Indonesia. The method used in this study is a qualitative research method. The results of this study show that the United States gave to Indonesia through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). Such assistance is provided in the form of technical asstiancte, grants of money or funds, and humanitarian assistance. The funds from the grant were used to realize programs and projects in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia. The United States government also provides assistance in the form of COVID-19 vaccines and drugs and technical assistance. These assistances are useful for the Government of Indonesia in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic. Keywords: COVID-19, Foreign Aid, Indonesia, United States, USAID
