Abstract

This study is aimed to determine and analyze the influence of the work environment and job satisfaction on the performance of local public service agency (LPSA) employees at Regional General Hospital Palembang BARI during the COVID-19 pandemic. Questionnaires were distributed to 114 LPSA employees and the results were collected as the primary data to measure the research variables. The data obtained from the questionnaire results were processed using the SPSS program with multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed that the work environment and job satisfaction had a positive and significant effect on the performance of LPSA employees at Regional General Hospital Palembang BARI during the COVID-19 pandemic. The results of this study were used as the input for the hospital management to improve and increase employee performance by paying attention to the work environment such as providing adequate equipment as well as creating harmonious working relationships with co-workers, leaders, and management. Furthermore, bigger efforts on improving and increasing employee job satisfaction such as timely salary payments, promotion opportunities, and a clear career path were also needed.
