Abstract

Background : Indonesia is the fourth largest country in the w'orid in tenns ojpopulation. One artempt lo suppress the population growth is hy reducing the numher oj hirths. Efforts to control the birth is through programs such as Family Planning Movement using contraceptive methods ofhirth control pills. Coverage of active family planning participants in the city of Palembang is still low achievemenls are below 50%. Contraception most widely used by participants KB and participants KB Recently Active is an injection then pills and implants. in addition there are no data regarding the prevalence of contraceptive use in Palembang for 2011. This research aim to determine the prevalence and the factors that most influence the use of birth control pills in Ilir Barat J Palembang Period January I - June 30. 2011. Method : A cross sectional design has been done at Puskesmas Ilir Barat I Palembang Period January 1 - June 30, 2011. The sample totaling 709 persons who meet the inclusion criteria. Samples taken afe WUS (20-45 years) by way of sampling is the total sampling The data was taken from medical records (secondary data) of the females. The data was analyzed with univariate analysis. which is the frecjuency distribution of the respondents, bivariate analysis, which is the Chi-Square tesi, and multivariate analysis which is the binary logistic regression by using the SPSS. Result : The prevalence rate of oral contraceptive is 20.3%. p = 0,230 variables for financial guarantees, for the variable p = 0.255 Parity and p = 0,753 for maternal age variable. From these results are the three variables have a relationship with the use of birth control pills but not statistically significant. In the analysis of factors that most influence the use of oral contraceptives is guaranteed ftnancing. Conclusion: The prevalence of pill use was 20,3%. Injecting is the most widely used method. These three variables have a relationship with the use of birth control pills but not statistically significant. In the analysis offactors that most influence the use of oral contraceptivesfound that 1 the Guarantee Financing.
