Abstract

This study aims to develop teaching materials based on ethnomathematics of the local culture of Pagar Alam City on flat and geometric shapes in elementary schools and to determine the validity and practicality of using teaching material products. The research used is development research with the ADDIE model (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate). This research only reaches the third stage or develop, then produces the final product. The validation results obtained from material experts were 90% in the valid category, from media experts it was 95% in the valid category and from classroom teacher practitioners it was 97.5% in the valid category. The practicality of using the product was obtained from the results of trials on 12 fifth grade students at SD Negeri 24 Pagar Alam which was carried out in two stages. The average value obtained is 96.1% with the "very practical" category. From these results, it can be said that teaching materials based on ethnomathematics local culture in Pagar Alam City, flat and geometric shapes are suitable for use as teaching materials to convey learning material in schools. Henceforth, it is hoped that this teaching material can be used in learning flat and spatial shapes and with regard to local culture in elementary schools.
