Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui tingkat kelangsungan hidup dan efektivitas ekstrak daun pepaya untuk pencegahan A. hydrophila pada ikan patin (Pangasius sp.). Penelitian dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Dasar Bersama Perikanan, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Sriwijaya pada bulan Februari hingga Maret 2011. Metode yang digunakan rancangan acak lengkap. Empat perlakuan ekstrak pepaya yaitu P0 (kontrol), P1 (3,35% ekstrak daun pepaya), P2 (6,7% ekstrak daun pepaya) dan P3 (10% ekstrak daun pepaya). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian ekstrak daun papaya konsentrasi 6,7% dan 10% terbukti mengurangi serangan Aeromonas hydrophila dan mempertahankan kelangsungan hidup ikan patin.
