Abstract

This study aims to determine the tendency of aggressive behavior in class VII students at SMP Negeri 2 Palembang based on the economic level of the family. This research is a type of quantitative research with descriptive methods. Data was collected using a psychological scale with a Likert scale model. The population in this study were class VII students at SMP Negeri 2 Palembang, totaling 338 students and a sample of 183 students were used as subjects. The sampling technique uses a proportional random sample. Data were analyzed using the percentage formula (%). The results of research on the tendency of aggressive behavior in class VII students at SMP Negeri 2 Palembang based on the economic level of the family showed that there was not much difference, namely most were at the lower class economic level with an average of 46.73 followed by the upper class economic level had an average the average is 46.5 and at the middle class economic level there is an average of 46.09. So it is known that there is a difference in the tendency of aggressive behavior in students but not significant when viewed from the economic status of the family.
